RV Compatibility

The dedicated 2” Piston Pro X (2-Bike) is RV Compatible if:

  1. The receiver hitch is directly attached to the RV chassis, not just to the bumper; and
  2. The bicycle rack is in a 2-bike (or fewer) configuration with no add-on unit attached; and
  3. The weight capacity does not exceed more than 42 lbs. per tray; and
  4. No hitch extender or swing-away rack attachment is being used.

All other Piston Pro X configurations (including the 1.25″ with and without hitch adapters) are ONLY compatible with some Class B chassis, such as camper vans.

Yes, you can! If your bike has fenders, you will need to use the Fender Kit when transporting it on the Piston Pro X and Piston Pro racks. Our Fender Kit Fit Guide provides more information.

Kashima Coat is a proprietary hard anodizing process invented and applied by the Miyaki Company of Japan. Kashima Coating is an electrochemical process with many variables that alter the color of the coating without changing its performance. While we try to match the colors of the actuators perfectly on each rack, there are very slight color variations from batch to batch that make it impossible to match every actuator on every rack. Due to these external circumstances, we cannot guarantee that the color of the coating will match from actuator to actuator. This will not affect the performance of the coating.

Yes! The locks will arrive lubed from the factory. Each time you lube up your bike chain, squirt a drop or two in the lock on your rack. This will prolong their life and make them easier to use.

Absolutely not! A cover would create a significant amount of wind resistance. The extra resistance would increase the strain on your hitch rack, causing it to break.
